The Geodesy Section is a section within the Geodetic Survey Division of Department Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM).  It develops and maintains the National Spatial References system defining the latitude, longitude and height of controls throughout the nation.  This information is used by the public and private sectors in area of control survey, cadastral survey, mapping engineering and other various scientific applications.  Geodesy Section was established as a geodesy branch under the Peninsular Malaysia Topographical Survey Department.  Subsequently in 1997, it was restructured to become an independent section within JUPEM.  It is headed by a director and has a workforce of 72 staffs, more detailed description of Geodesy Section and its role and function can be found in the document Objective and Functions.
